Proudly welcoming Oscar Jackson AKA Portway to the Moon Rack familia, and damn has he provided.

With recent releases under Juke Bounce Werk, Gimme A Break and Nu Kvlture to name a few, Portway has been on the grind this year, and we’ve heard his name popping up more and more frequently. His music generally occupies the 160-170bpm range and often explores his own flairs of footwork and jungle. However, his garage proves that his ability to produce heaters is not bound by any genre! Amid Portway’s many creative exploits, he also runs his own label ‘Softcore’ where he demonstrates his graphic finnese; designing all of the label’s visual components.

The EP opens with the track sharing the EP’s title, ‘Inertia’. An almost story-like development growing and evolving in natural yet interesting directions. The rolling four to the floor groove gives it an optimistic and eager excitement, which suits the tunes placement in the EP. Meditative pulsating bass grooves met by relentless, abrasively syncopated beats are heard throughout the EP, notably in tracks ‘Blips’ and ‘Marbles’, suitably consoled with emotionally rich breakdowns and cinematic, musically gripping build ups in ‘Marbles’, whereas ‘Blips’ carries a more unsettling and eerie tone throughout, with ricocheting themes and sprinkles of atonal zaps, guiding you through unexpected and ambiguous spaces.
The final track, ‘Indium’ is the obligatory dancefloor weapon of the EP, brimming with weighty amen choppage and spectacular glistening bell stabs, this track is a certi sheller and has already caused anarchy in many a club as of recent.
